The questions we are asked most about installation, licensing, commission and technical requirements.
I am not technical — can I install it?
Installation follows a flow much like installing WordPress: you upload the ZIP package to your hosting, open the setup wizard in your browser and follow the steps. The wizard checks your server itself; if something is missing it tells you what it is and what to do about it. You do not need the command line.
Do you take a commission from my sales?
Merkantor takes no commission from your sales. The software is licensed per domain. Your payment provider’s own commissions and service fees are independent of Merkantor and are strictly between you and that provider.
How much does Merkantor cost?
A perpetual licence is $749. It is tied to a single domain; updates are included indefinitely and there is no annual payment. The agency plan (5 domains) is $1,990 and the reseller plan (25 domains) is $6,240. If you would like us to install it for you, that is a one-off $50. Prices are shown in US dollars.
What happens if I change my domain?
The licence is tied to a domain, and you can move your domain. Just write to us from the contact page; the licence is transferred to the new domain. Your key, your installation history and your support thread are kept, and you do not need to buy a new licence.
How do updates arrive?
Updates are applied from the update screen in the admin panel. The package signature is verified, a backup is taken first, and that backup is tested to confirm it can actually be restored. If an update is interrupted, Merkantor rolls back to the last working version; your visitors never see a half-installed store. Your licence is perpetual: updates and security patches keep arriving indefinitely, with no annual payment.
Can I export my data?
Yes. Because the database sits in your own hosting account, you can take a database backup and download your files from your hosting panel. You do not need anyone else’s permission to access your own data.
How many products can I add?
The software imposes no limit on the number of products. In practice the limit comes from your hosting plan: disk space, database capacity and CPU. If you are planning a large catalogue, choose your hosting accordingly.
Do I need SSH?
No. Installation and updates work without SSH access.
Do I need Composer?
No. The package ships ready to install; you do not need to install dependencies.
Do I need to set up a cron job?
No. Merkantor is designed to run without a cron job.
What hosting do I need?
PHP 8.3 or newer, a MySQL or MariaDB database, and Apache, Nginx or OpenLiteSpeed. It was built with shared hosting in mind. The setup wizard measures your server and shows, item by item, whether it qualifies.
Which payment methods are supported?
The product ships with iyzico, Stripe, PayTR and PayPal integrations, plus bank transfer and cash on delivery. Real payments have been taken through iyzico and Stripe. The PayTR and PayPal code is written, but verification in the provider’s own environment is still under way, so we describe those as “supported” rather than proven. Any payment method not on this list is not supported today.
Which carriers are supported?
Yurtiçi Kargo, Aras Kargo and MNG Kargo are supported, alongside entering a tracking number by hand. As with the payment integrations, this page will be updated as verification in each provider’s environment is completed.
Is e-invoicing supported?
Nilvera e-invoicing is supported. Verification of that integration in the provider’s environment is still under way.
